Thrifty Database Benchmark

Thrifty developers ensure that they delete unused database resources. This benchmark focuses on finding resources that have been older than thresholds days.

Variables

Variable	Description	Default
database_age_max_days	The maximum number of days databse clusters are allowed to run.	90 days

Usage

Install the mod:

mkdir dashboards
cd dashboards
powerpipe mod init
powerpipe mod install github.com/turbot/steampipe-mod-digitalocean-thrifty

Start the Powerpipe server:

steampipe service start
powerpipe server

Open http://localhost:9033 in your browser and select Database Checks.

Run this benchmark in your terminal:

powerpipe benchmark run digitalocean_thrifty.benchmark.database

Snapshot and share results via Turbot Pipes:

powerpipe benchmark run digitalocean_thrifty.benchmark.database --share

Controls

Database clusters created over 90 days ago should be reviewed
